The inaugural and sold out Mumsnet blogfest this month proved that blogs in general are building as much in the number of participants writing them as they are in spectators reading them. This is the same fortnight as the esteemed wine journalist and commentator Andrew Jefford announced that the “wine writer is dead.”
My inbox of invites to review all manner of things wine related is testament to the fact that both points are old news; bloggers are any discerning PRs new best friend and they have been for some time. Which is great news for me and my wine blogging pals because it’s given Oddbins a reason to ask us to select another case of wine for them as part of what continues to be a first in the UK – a wine blogger/ wine retailer collaboration.
This time we’ve kept to the same wallet friendly principals as the first case but have made it even easier for you to consider trying because this time it’s only 6 bottles. Here’s my favourite wine in our Oddbins Wine Bloggers cracking Christmas case!
McManis Pinot Noir 2010, California, USA
Pinot Noir has found its adoptive home in California where it creates velvety, luxurious and affordable examples of the king of grapes. This one has all the classic brambly, undergrowth and sweet spicy juiciness that wine lovers and novices will devour over the party season.”

PS: I hate the fact the self-appointed-blog-police make me feel I have to tell you this but…. for the sceptics among you, this is not a money making collaboration, it’s just a nice thing to be involved in. If that changes I’ll let you know!
