… in 21 easy steps!
.
In the week that @robertjoseph bought of the lack of humour in wine blogging and wine writing to our attention I downloaded a copy of @woodswine‘s The World’s Shortest Wine Book*, a little e-book that is jam packed with humour. Toilet humour to be precise! Woods’ serving suggestion is to digest each of his 21 chapters on how to get more out of a bottle of wine whilst sitting on the loo ‘or two chapters if you’ve eaten something dodgy!’
.
If you’re wondering if it’s a read for you then a less blokey barometer of the intensity of the book lies in the fact I got through the lot in the time it took the hairdresser to top up my highlights. I learnt a bit too. Wood gives a lovely analogy and excuse to drink more wine by explaining that tasting regularly will help ingrain flavour profiles to our palate’s memory; like listening to a track over and over again eventually that song will take ‘residence in the memory bank, and wine can do the same’ he explains. Why didn’t I think of that?
.
In my quest for wine related treats for you during dry January Simon Wood’s “The World’s Shortest Wine Book” is definitely worth downloading, and while it won’t physically help you get more wine out of your bottle it will help you get more out of your bottle of wine, which can’t be bad for £2.49!
